OPEN LETTER: STOP FOREIGN OWNERSHIP OF AUSTRALIA’S FARMS

Dear Mav Supporter,

I’ve been to Afgest the last couple of days talking to farmers, farmhands, and others.

Everyone is concerned about foreign ownership of our agricultural land and wants to stop China controlling us.

People are afraid to say it publicly – but they don’t want the CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY – to keep buying land in Tasmania and around the country.

The official figure is that 13.8% of Australian farmland is foreign-owned – but the unofficial figure is closer to 30%.

Foreigners can own land through wholly-owned “Australian companies” and through complex trust structures, avoid disclosing the ultimate (foreign) owner. This doesn’t count in the official books as “foreign ownership”.

It’s a bit like international tax evasion…..there are lots of loopholes for foreigners to avoid declaring ownership of Australian farmland.

And we all know that the Chinese Communist Party is using a variety of methods to “buy up Australia”.

If Australians are overwhelmingly against foreign control of our strategic assists (like agricultural land) why are our national leaders not listening?

Communist China is a serious threat to our way of life. I will do everything as an Australian Senator to STOP CHINA and to stop foreign ownership of Australia’s farmland.
